Have you ever been that guy in the group who has to head back to the parking lot when everyone else wants to keep going up the trail because you just don’t have enough fuel? If you answered yes to that question, then you need to pick up a Kolpin Fuel Pack JR and mount it to your machine. The Fuel Pack JR allows you to take an additional 1.5 gallons of fuel and mount it virtually anywhere on your ATV or UTV as long as you have a rack or rollcage of some sort. Once the mount is secure, you simply slide the pack over the mount and thread the holder down onto the fuel pack until it is securely held in place by the tabs molded into the pack itself. It doesn’t get much more simple than that.
When you’re ready to top off your tank, all you need to do is unthread the holder, pull off the fuel pack, unscrew the cap to reveal the internal nozzle that you pull out and then screw the cap back into place. Like most fuel cans nowadays, the Fuel Pack nozzle is the no-spill type that requires you to twist the base and press down allowing fuel to flow. My experience with these types of nozzles typically ends up with more fuel on the ground than in my tank, but surprisingly enough this one worked flawlessly and I can’t recall spilling one drop.
While some might cringe at the price of $74.99 for a 1.5-gallon fuel jug, I choose to look at the big picture and say this item can keep me from being stranded out on the trail with a dry tank or from getting the stink eye from all of my riding buddies who don’t want me heading back to camp alone but want to stay on the trail themselves.
