More than 4,500 units recalled for fire hazard concerns.

The 2023 Polaris Sportsman.Polaris

Polaris has issued a recall on the 2020–2023 Sportsman 1000 S and Scrambler 1000 S due to a fire hazard caused by electrostatic discharge around the fuel tank. The discharge risks igniting spilled fuel and catching fire to the ATV. The recall affects 3,800 Sportsman 1000 S and Scrambler 1000 S vehicles sold between July 2019 and October 2022 in the US and another 780 units sold in Canada. Polaris has received 16 reports of fires, one report of injury, and one report of property damage.

If you own a 2020–2023 model year Sportsman 1000 S or Scrambler 1000 S, you should stop operation of the vehicle immediately and contact your local Polaris dealer to find out if your ATV is affected. A free repair of new fuel filler neck clamps and a fill neck cover will be installed on all recalled vehicles.
