How To: Polaris RZR XP 1000 Proper Vehicle Break-in

Step-By-Step

Your new Polaris RZR requires a substantial amount of preventative maintenance to keep it in top running shape. Properly following the correct maintenance and service schedule can save you thousands in repairs and add years to your rigs life expectancy. Before we can get into maintenance schedules and service procedures it’s even more important that you properly break your new Polaris in.

As a rule, the first two full tanks of gas or 25 hours of operation is your RZR’s break-in period. Polaris claims that proper break-in is the single most important thing you can do for you vehicle, in fact the first three hours is even more critical, as excessive heat build-up will damage close-fitted engine parts and drive components. You should not operate at full throttle or high speeds during that critical first three hours of use.
