Thrashed: Oakley Mayhem Mx Goggle Product Review

I am very particular about wearing goggles that fit my face properly. There's nothing more annoying than a goggle that doesn't quite fit and passes dirt through gaps where the foam doesn't touch your face or puts uncomfortable pressure on the bridge of your nose. When I got my hands on Oakley's Mayhem MX goggle I was excited to try it because I've always been a fan of the fit. The fact that this goggle comes with a removable nose guard, spare tinted lens and pack of laminated tear-offs for $75 makes it an even better bargain. With new goggle in hand I went to the local motocross track for a test drive.

As I slid the goggle over my Arai helmet I instantly found I had to remove the nose guard since those helmets already provide some protection. Once the guard was removed the goggle fit inside the helmet perfectly and off I went to burn some laps. The laminated tear-offs were perfect when I was unfortunate enough to get behind someone on a muddy part of the track, and when it was dry, not a single speck of dust made its way to my eyes as the foam of the goggle was the perfect fit for my round face. The triple fleece face foam helped make them comfortable and kept the sweat off my brow from dripping into my eyes. At the end of the day this goggle kept the dirt out of my eyes and a smile on my face. -Eli Madero
