Arctic Cat Partners With Garmin on Tread Premium GPS System

Dash-mounted off-road maps, satellite imagery, group ride communication, and more.

Arctic Cat has teamed up with Garmin to bring a dash-mounted Tread GPS system to much of its powersports lineup—ATVs, UTVs, and snowmobiles included. The system uses the Garmin Tread portable GPS navigator with a 5.5-inch touchscreen display. It’s an impressive unit that does way more than just tell you where camp is. The system features installed off-road maps, 32GB of storage space for additional map downloading, Bluetooth capability with compatible headsets, and a built-in MP3 player.

The system is preloaded with North American topographical maps, including information on private land, forest service roads, and trail maps. It comes loaded with millions of points of interest presented with the latest satellite view technology. Additional features include a route recording and backtrack mode, pitch and roll gauges, a barometric altimeter, three-axis electronic compass, and an Adventurous Routing mode that will find routes that involve more hills and turns.

The Group Ride feature allows communication with up to 20 of your friends, even if phone service isn’t available. You can track rider locations in your group who also have a Garmin Tread system. It has a range of up to 8 miles dependent on how hilly the terrain is. Communication can be had through group texting with other Garmin Tread owners. An optional push-to-talk mic is available for direct communication, which is part of the premium Tread GPS kit.
