Thrashed: Lockstraps Locking Tiedown Straps

When you're hauling your toys in the bed of your truck or on your exposed trailer, there are two things you need to worry about. The first is whether your load will come loose thanks to some unknown brand of generic tiedowns failing, and the second is whether your toys are safe from the scum of the earth who feel your stuff is there for the taking. For the longest time the only option was to buy the best in quality tiedowns, then wind feet upon feet of cable through the frames and A-arms, finally securing it with a quality padlock. That can be a pain, especially when you get to your destination only to realize you've left the key on the table at home before you walked out the door.

With Lockstraps locking tiedowns you can kill two birds with one stone. I’ve been using these straps for quite a few months and they keep your loads secure unlike those generic brands found on the shelves at your local hardware store. The best thing about these tiedowns is the large combination lock carabiners at each end so you can ensure nobody can walk away with your toys in a hurry. What if they just cut through the strap with a knife, you ask? Don’t fret everyone, because inside of every strap is a steel cable that runs the full length of the strap.

I can't say I've tried to cut through the strap or that I've had any machines stolen from my trailer, so I guess that means these things work. I know since I've been using these I feel more at ease when my rig is parked and I run inside to grab a bite to eat or rest my head for the night. My only gripe is the carabiner can be a little awkward to close for some securing points, but all in all the Lockstraps are great to give you a little more sense of security. - Eli Madero
