Arctic Cat parent company Textron Specialized Vehicles is recalling the Alterra 600 and Tracker 600 all-terrain vehicles because of a crash hazard. The recall alert warns the A-arm suspension brackets can crack, which could cause them to separate from the chassis and frame. The Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends that owners park their Alterra 600 and Tracker 600 ATVs until they can be inspected by a certified Arctic Cat dealer, and repaired if necessary.
No injuries have been yet reported in relation to the recall, which affects about 3,800 machines in the United States and 1,200 in Canada. This recall involves 2022–2023 Alterra 600 and 2022–2023 Tracker 600s. Affected machines will have “the main frame weldment…replaced, free of cost, along with the addition of the strengthening brackets, if the main frame A-arm mount bracket is cracking.”
